Are you a fan of Janet Evanovich?

BAM and I are going to a booksigning for Lean Mean Thirteen. I'm not a big reader of hers, I listened to Twelve Sharp on my ipod but that's it. I'm going because Brenda is a big fan. So I thought, since I'm going to be there I should have a contest for my Mannions. You all are so spoiled, LOL. So everyone who posts to this post before Sunday midnight my time has a chance to win a personalized copy of Lean Mean Thirteen. If you don't read her but want to post to my post let me know so I don't enter you into the contest. I'd prefer a fan to win the book. And if you're a lurker, please feel free to enter, yes, I'm going to draw you out, LOL. I will announce the winner on Mon night.

I did something today I so know I shouldn't have done. What is it? I bought a Gerber Daisy plant. Why did I buy it? They always die on me but I couldn't resist. It was only $3 and it was so pretty, It looked small in it's tiny little pot but I re-potted it (to try to give it as long a lifespan as possible, LOL) and now it already looks a lot bigger. I figured I'd share a pic of it while it's still in its glory. I will let you know when the funeral is, LOL.

I watched the daytime emmys tonight. I have been watching soaps for as long as I can remember. Some winners I really wanted to win, Genie Frances and Maura West and some I didn't because I was rooting for other people but looking at the people who were nominated it really is hard to choose the winner. Daytime takes a lot of hits but I think they have some of the most fantastic actors around, when they laugh, I laugh and when they cry, I cry. Vanessa Marcil was a way better actress on GH then she is on Las Vegas. It was fun watching the show which was 2 hours, had categories I cared about and ended on time. Today was also Bob Barker's last show. I haven't watched the Price is Right in years but it was a staple as was he. It was great to see him honored. He really was a great host.

OMG! about Bob Barker's last show!!! I can't believe I missed it! I haven't watched regularly in quite a while, but if I was up & flipping through the tv early enough to catch him,I'd usually watch it.I've watched it off & on since I was 7 or 8 years old,I bet-my Mom tried to catch it often. That makes me kinda sad,it's like the last show left from my childhood is gone now *sniff*

Since it is my BIRTHDAY then I think I should be the automatic winner! "-) I'm a JOE girl all the way!!!!

I love Gerber Daisies but wish they were perennials so I don't have to plant them each year--yep I'm lazy in my old age!

It's 5:45am--time to hit the pool for Em's swim meet. Who said being on swim team was a good ideal?!!!????

How cool that you are going to another signing. I wonder if she will put you in the credits for her next book? Hee hee.

Do not put me in for the book. I have wanted to read this series, but haven't done so yet. It wouldn't be fair to those die-hard fans of yours.

Have a great time.

Let me get this straight Bo, so you want me to enter you in the contest? LOL!

Yes I have plenty of black to wear and I'll wear my new black dress when I walk it to the trash can, LOL. I was chatting while the show was on but it was still fun to watch. I love the clips they played on the Emmys of people's reactions when their name was called. I know what you mean about being sad. Although we didn't watch it it was still an insitution.

Well missy, I guess you would be correct! Looks like I'll be getting 2 copies signed, LOL. You know I love you and since I'm horrible with birthdays consider this your late birthday gift! Especially since you had to wake up at the buttcrack of dawn to take Emma to practice.

Gerber Daisys are one of my favorite flowers, so simple yet so pretty. I'm lazy in my young age, I was quite proud of myself to re-pot one plant, LOL.

I had no idea Atlanta had so many signings. 2 major authors doing their signings on opening day here, that's really cool. I need to pay more attn to book tours, I normally have no clue.

I hope that you have a great weekend Karen. Have you fully healed from your injury yet?

Hey chick, boy am I glad I came online and checked in. Or am I too late? Did you mean Saturday night midnight turning into Sunday or Sunday night midnight turning into Monday? Lord, I confuse myself.

That's cool that there are so many booksignings. I'm so stoked that Vegas is starting to get their fair share too. I just found that the Henderson library system always has authors speaking/signing. They are run by an author called Robin Carr. I don't read her, but I know she writes romance. Plus Sherry Kenyon is coming sometime in August. Woot!!

I love the Gerber, chick. The color is so pretty!! I'm still trying to keep the plant that Mikey planted at school for Mother's Day alive. And it's taking all of my love and attention. LOL. I need to re-pot it soon too.

I missed all TV Friday night darnit. I really wanted to see Bob Barker's last show. I wonder if cbs.com is airing it. Hmm. So, Genie Frances won at the awards? Way cool!! I just started catching up on GH again. Is she coming back to the show now that Luke kidnapped her? Oh, and I was so cracking up at Alan haunting Tracy. How appropriate.

Hugs and smooches!

Aaaw I love gerberas! But like with you they die on me. LOL.

Nope not a fan of Evanovich. I have tried reading her books, just didn't work out for me.

No need to enter me in the contest.

Since I'm going to meet Janet in person,(*BG*) I don't need to be entered in the contest.
Your Gerber is a beautiful color and $3 is a great price for one, no matter the size. I can't give you any tips for keeping that sucker alive.

I am a Babe but could be talked into a cupcake. *rotfl*

I LOVE those books -- it was a guaranteed seat to myself on the train home when I commuted to NYC on a daily basis (wouldn't you avoid a person who was reading and laughing hysterically to herself on a nYC commuter train?)

P.S: Put the daisy where it gets morning sun, and water every other day -- as long as your pot has a hole for the extra water to drain from. If it doesn't water every 3rd day.

Rotate the pot about a quarter turn on the days that you water, and you daisy will grow fairly straight instead of leaning towards the sun direction.

I got my gerberas the week before Mother's Day & keep them on my balcony which gets morning sun, and they are on their 3 bloom cycle already.

Thanks Ann, I would never have thought to water my gerbers that much!
