And the winner is....

Ann! She will be getting the signed Janet Evanovich. Good thing Brenda emailed me this weekend. I thought the signing was tomorrow, I would have been waiting awhile for her to show up, LOL.

Today I babysat for my friend. He's 11 months old and so much fun. The most awesome thing was, when it was time to put him to bed he wasn't even fussy. It was his bedtime so I took him upstairs and he laid right down, grabbed his blanket and went to sleep. I was so impressed! Now I see the benefits of a schedule. I don't even have a sleep schedule for myself and I pay the price, LOL.

On the way home I decided to stop to get a case of water. My friend had mentioned it looked like it was going to rain, well I should have listened. When I came out it was pouring down rain and I had to carry my case of water and my grapes. Needless to say, I got drenched. Franklin drove up while I was unlocking my door and he was like, I'm sorry for you, since I was soaking wet and wearing white shorts, LOL. Have I mentioned how much I hate the rainstorms around here?

I'm watching the interview with Princes William and Harry and those two young men are really good looking and well spoken. It's fun watching their interaction with each other. I can't believe it's been almost 10 years since Priness Diana died. I remember waking up and it was all over the tv and I didn't really believe it. I found it incredibly sad, mainly for her two children. It looks like she laid a great foundation with them and I'm happy that Charles stepped up as a dad.

BTW, my friends gave me a $20 gift card for ice cream as a thank you for babysitting! I see a banana split or three in my future, LOL.

Babysitting for ice cream, now there's a deal. Loved your bargain lap dances in the blog below. Nothing like quality shopping for discounted prices LOL.

I still remember the day Princess Di passed away too. It was very sad and I was surprised how emotional I got over it. Don't really understand why her death more than others affected me, but like a large percentage of the population it really did.

Me too, I can still remember the day Lady Di, died. My aunt called early in the morning and was crying, I was like WTF?!? Then she told me about Lady Di. I switched on the TV and there it was...

Candle in the Wind will always remind me of her.

Congrats to Ann! I'm not too mad,as I have been the lucky Mannion before,EG!

What an awesome thank you for babysitting, how come I don't get that? Oh yeah, family,LOL.

I remember I was in Vegas celebrating my birthday w/ hubs & my Mom when Diana died.I was really sad,I just didn't feel much like being happy & celebrating after that-I think we found out through one of the tvs playing in the casino.I watched the funeral on tv & cried & felt sad for her boys as well. And for days afterward, when they would show things on tv,people's reactions,i cried when I heard some. One that really touched me was this, something a little girl apparently said-

'How can we play princess when the best one is dead?'

I thought that was so sad.She was truly a beautiful person, and she was such a great mother & example to her boys.

*woo-hoo* I win, I win!

I spent the entire day (12 hours) a few weeks ago babysitting my niece and my newest god-daughter. One in not quite 3 and the other is 6 months. I asked my friend Angie to come with me since with 2 we can trade off without getting overwhelmed.

Did you know that it takes 2 college educated adults 3 tries to get the Thomas the Tank train tracks together so that you can use most of the pieces and get it all to fit on the Thomas the Train table?! Who'da thunk?

I pointed out to Angie that Emma wouldn't care if we didn't use all the pieces, and Angie just looked at me and said "it's a matter of honor now". *rotfl*

We spent several hours lounging in the kiddie pool. It just comes to your knees, but that's enough that one can lounge up to their shoulders in the water, read a book and push Em around in the pool with your feet while she's in the pool float & the other can sit in the water and play with the baby.

Their mom had stocked the fridge with our favorite sodas, and adult beverages *g* as well as sandwhich makings and desserts. She tried to pay us, but we refused. *g* We did invite ourselves back to lounge in the pool on a future weekend. *EG*

Apparently Emma was a little miffed to find out that MOM was going to spend the day with "annangie" last Saturday while she had to stay home with Dad. *lol*

I just love other people's kids, don't you?

Ann

Woot, congrats Ann!!! The book will go to a loving home. *G*

That sounds fun to sit for a little one. You've always been so good with the kids! Cool beans about the ice cream gift card. They do know the way to your heart (and tummy). LOL!!

I remember the whole Diana thing too. We had just moved to Vegas and I was pregnant with Vito. As I was getting ready to go to bingo, it came across on the news. I was sad the rest of the night and couldn't wait to get home to find out how she was. It was devastating to hear she had passed. Especially being pregnant and knowing how much she loved her boys. What a wonderful woman she was!

Hugs and smooches!!

I know! Plus, they bought pizza too! Ice cream and pizza, heaven!

LOL, well you know I can't pass up a deal, a $5 lap dance, score!

I am surprised about how much her death moved me too, I guess because it was such a waste and se was so young.

OK, I didn't cry but I did find it incredibly sad. She was my age when she died, scary!

Yeah, family don't get squat, LOL. Don't worry, this I know first hand.

That quote is heartbreaking.

Congrats Ann! Sorry that I missed your call. I think you must have called while I was doing laundry, oh the joy, LOL.

LOL, I love other people's kids because we get to go home! BTW, I worked up a sweat changing his diaper, he kept rolling around and sitting up. It was insane, LOL.

I almost stopped to get a banana split with Dao today but it was raining so I will have to wait but I'm salivating at the thought, yum! Yes, they know me well!
