Grey goose pear vodka is calling my name...

Well, it's called my name and I've already answered the call, LOL. I find my favorite way to enjoy it is with tonic and some lime. The tonic doesn't overwhelm the pear flavor, it's quite tasty. Normally a bottle of GG wil sit in my freezer until my next visit from a girlfriend but not this pear vodka. It's quite dangerous. I've already had one tonight and while I want another I figure I'd be asleep by 10 if I have it, LOL. That's why I decided I should blog early, just in case I feel like having another taste!

I made a wonderful scavenger meal today. I needed something for lunch so had to piece together what I had laying around the house. I had a jar of pesto sauce I bought last week to eat with bread so I decided to make some pasta since I had some wheat spaghetti in my cupboard. I also had leftover broccoli from when Lina was here and some yucca root that I had bought awhile ago that I was tempted to toss but decided I should cook it instead. I boiled the yucca and then sliced it to stir fry in garlic with the broccoli and some seasonings, and I heated up the pesto with some olive oil to thin it out and tossed in the cooked spaghetti and when that was done I put the cooked veggies on top with some parmesan cheese and it was fantastic. Talk about a pleasant surprise. Sorry that I don't have a pic of it but my expectations weren't high when I cooked it, LOL.

So I received no book recomendations from anyone yesterday. Is there nothing bookwise that is exciting anyone?

It's thundering outside tonight, trying desperately to rain. While I'm not a fan of the rain I realize how necessary it is and if it's going to rain, the evening is a perfect time. Once Ghost Whisperer is over I'm going to crawl into bed and either read or watch some computer tv, LOL. Yes, I may have a drink on my nightstand too, why not?

Leiha, I'm actually reading the first book in the Women of the Otherworld by Kelley Armstrong. It's not bad so far! I'm also reading Marley & Me (non-fiction) for my local book club and just finished Tami Hoag's Alibi Man - great action, not enough r/s for you! Also just got the new Women's Murder Club book by James Patterson!

Just a thought, I think that you should start to read cookbooks! They are entertaining and will inspire you to try new dishes like me!! :)

I think Cosmo (june) has a new cocktail with GGP! Sounds good!

Can't believe I'm saying this, but watch TV so we can talk about the shows!!! LOL

Hey, book reccomend...

I have in the post the latest Linnea Sinclair, Games of Command Sci fi romance.

I LOVED Jenns new book of course and am thinking of doing a re read next week sometime...

I have just read The Leopard Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt and thought it was delightful. Historical, which I don't often read anymore, and throughly enjoyable.

Natural Born Charmer by Susan Elizabeth Phillips was great. Got it from libray.

Read Keri Athur Dangerous Games and while it was ok, good read was less than keen on one of her partners in this one.

Been reading Marjorie M. Liu and love her books. Have had them on the shelf for ages and I also enjoy reading her blog.

What are you reading at the moment???

PS Good cook book - Jamies Dinners. I use this and I am no chef. Great, easy and yum! Steve likes the Anthony Bordain (sp) books to, cooking and stuff, very entertaining.

Pear Vodka. Arrgh wish you people would stop tempting me with something that sounds so yummy. I was bad today and succumbed to the call of the Double Black Ice Vodka thingy in a bottle and am sitting (not alone cause I'm on the internet.. see I remember Leiha)here drinking it happily.

As for reading. Loved to bits and teeny tiny pieces the new Loretta Chase one, Not Quite a Lady. Am now reading Jacob by Jaqueline Frank and it's wonderous and yup, I've found me a new author to search the net about. Very good, hot paranormal with demons and stuff (yes, completely up my street). Can't remember which RBL raved about this book, but they were right. Also read the newest paperback Undead book by MJD which was good, but not as funny as the others. Next up is Warsworn (can you tell I'm way behind on getting books and am having to work my way through the TBB list).

You know I still reckon that pear vodka would be calling my name LOUDLY too.

I finished Charlaine Harris' 'All Together Dead'. I love the Sookie Stackhouse series. She's so good that I can do a re-read in about a week.
I've got a couple more e-books to read; they're all about menage a trois', of course! I like 'em down and dirty. A Manwhich is the way to go. LOL!
I'm looking forward to Janet Evanovich's new book coming out in June.

Leiha, you're so good in the kitchen. You manage to cook wonderful, healthy meals without any planning. How do you do that?
I cooked the rabbit last night, but Charli couldn't eat it because, it WAS a rabbit. She couldn't get her mind around the cute fuzzy being food.
I want to see her reaction when she sees the entire fish at the restaurant tomorrow. hehehe
I love to shock her. Does that make me a mean mommy?
Reminds me when she was praying someone would die so they could donate their eyes to you. LOL!

Is Grey Goose Pear Vodka in a single bottle, or is it a mix, Grey Goose & Pear Vodka? Sounds yummy.

I started reading Christine Warren's She's No Faerie Princess a few days ago, and it's cute so far. The hero is a werewolf, which I'm trying to get past, but it's pretty good. I added to my TBR last night at the Romancing the Rockies con last night, so I bought Gennita Lowe's very first book and one by Linnea Sinclair. I can't wait to get to those!

Me again...I did buy Linda Howard's Raintree: Inferno. It looks pretty damn good!

Books? Who has time for books? You've requested Porn and as I am the GOP, I've been busting my ass to supply the demand. LOL

Plus we have a HUGE neighborhood garage sale coming up next week and I am totally unprepared. There will be along the lines of 30 houses, the advertise in the paper and eben bring in a porta potty because traffic is so congested it takes forever to get anywhere. So I'm killing myself to get out stuff ready. I'll read later, but last week I read 3 older Susan Elizabeth Phillips I found at the used book store.

Linda, I haven't read Kellie Armstrong, I don't think her books are very romancy but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, LOL. I don't know about the cookbooks, I don't know if I want to cook more then I do, LOL. I barely can keep up with the latest romances!

I finished Lost and am ready to discuss.

I have a book by Linnea Sinclair that I picked up at RWA last year. It's on my TBR pile, I guess I'll move it up. Already read jenna's book so no need to add that to my TBB pile, can't wait for VHers. Have never read EH but loved NBC by SEP! Who didn't you like on the Arthur book? I hve read all of her Riley books. Does Marjorie have a new one? I swear, unless it's mentioned at RBL I never know release dates.

I'm reading a gothicy type romance called The Ravencliff Bride by Dawn Thompson. So far it's ok.

I love Anthony Boudain! I love how he'll try anything and how he calls a spade a spade.

Chez, tell me more! What is double black ice vodka and how does it taste? I wasnt going to pick up the chase because Rosie didn't seem wowed by it but I have read the rest of hers. Guess I should pick it up, it would be a good cruise read. I read Jcob, liked it, didn't love it but want to read the next one. The first person I know who mentioned this book was Jenna and then Aimee.

I need a real life manwich and I'm not talking sloppy joes, LOL. Well, it could get sloppy, lmao!

I cook out of desperation chick, LOL. You're improving. Did you make the cucumber salad yet?

Bummer Charlie didn't try the rabbit, wonder if she'll like the raw squid, LOL. She's such a sweet girl. I'm so happy no one had to die to donate their eyes to me but that's sweet that she prayed for it, LOL.

Te gg vodka is one bottle, it's pear flavored vodka and quite tasty. When we have our girls night I'll mix us up some drinks! I think we should plan it for June!

I have CW's A Wolf at the Door again, something in my TBR pile. I've heard good things about her, don't know why I haven't read it yet. I do enjoy werewold books. Well I enjoy the hot anmalistic sex, LOL.

Did you chat up the authors last night? I expect stories on your blog, LOL.

Alright Sara, you have a good excuse to not have read lately, send me my porn, LOL. Good luck on your yard sale, I am too lazy to host or to even go to them but I like them and think you can find some real bargains there. Love love love SEP!

Along with not eating, I don't drink either.

Oddly enough, I collect cookbooks, and read them too.

Also odd, I am a bartender...on paper anyway. I went to bartending school.

I'm reading "The Duke's Indiscretion" I think is the name of it. Adele Ashworth. I thought I liked her books. But the title doesn't seem to fit the story, and I thought it started with a good premise, but went wrong somewhere.
I haven't finished it, so maybe it needed take the turn it did, I don't know. I just thought it could have been a better story had it gone another way.

We got a big t-storm last night and this afternoon, too. A good, good lots of rain that we needed very badly. But the lightning sounded like it was cracking right over the house, thunder booming, wind blowing. We got some hail in today's storm.

I love summer afternoon thunder showers when there's no tornado watches to worry about.
I was standing with the front door open enjoying the cool breeze and smell of rain.

I take this to mean you haven't read the 2 hard covers I sent you. if you had, you wouldn't be after book recommends LOL
I'm crushed.

Miss you chic, I hope we can ketchup soon...

I thought about bartending as a profession, but couldn't stand the thought of standing on my feet that long, LOL.

I don't think AA ever re-captured the magic of Winter Garden unfortunately.

I'm not a big fan of these thunderstorms. It does sound like the thunder is going to come right down on you. The rain I don't mind if I'm inside, LOL.

Girl, you must be busy as hell! Haven't seen you around at all. I am reading the other paperback you lent me right now. The hardcovers are on my TBR pile, I'll get to them eventually. They're too pristine for me to take on the cruise though. I'm terrified handling your books, LOL.

Aimee Elizabeth said...

obviously you haven't looked UNDER the covers, those books have see some hard use, just leave the covers safely at home. If you want to take them.
I enjoyed the Ravencliff Bride, but I haven't read Waterlord yet

I would type more, but my DH thought it was a great idea to advertise my retail being open today, Mother's Day. I was like, WTF? I'm a mom! don't I deserve a day off? So I have to go open the shop here in a few. I'll be out there all by myself since my girls have sundays off. Can you tell I'm a tad annoyed? LOL

Have a smashing day chica! Mwah!

Leiha said...

The Ravencliff bride didn't do much for me. OK, now that I know I can rough up the books I'll take them with me on my cruise if I don't start them before I leave.

Sorry you had to work today. Your DH owes you big time!
